Off‑season

Workation in Ystad

October through April the town slows down and the house is mostly free. We rent it by the week or by the month to people who want to work somewhere quieter for a while, with the sea a few minutes' walk away.

The town in October is the town as locals know it. The market still runs on Saturdays. The watchman still blows the horn at 21:15. The bakery opens at seven. You can walk the harbour at first light without meeting anyone.

Why off‑season

What you'd come for

Autumn

October light is the flat, low Skåne light photographers come here for. Lobster season opens. The Apple Market at Kivik runs through 5 October. Restaurants are still on summer hours, mostly without summer crowds.

Winter

December brings the Christmas market on Stortorget, Lucia at Sankta Maria, the watchman in a heavier coat. The kallbadhus is open year‑round. The town is quiet enough to think in.

Spring

Konstrundan opens Good Friday and 85 studios across Österlen unlock for ten days. Beech leaves are out by mid‑April. The bakery puts vetebröd in the window again.
